Privacy policy

This policy describes Methodox Wallpaper Generator, provided by Methodox Technologies, Inc., and distinguishes the desktop application from its support website.

The application generates wallpapers on your device. It does not require an account, upload your wallpapers or settings, or include advertising, tracking or analytics.

Data handled by the application

The app keeps a small settings file on your device, including your selected generator, output resolution, window size and output folder. Your generated PNG images are saved only to the folder you choose. Methodox does not receive these files or settings through the app.

Folder access on macOS

The Mac App Store edition uses the macOS App Sandbox. You choose an output folder through the system folder picker. The app stores a security-scoped bookmark locally so it can save to that folder after reopening. This permission is used to write your wallpapers and check existing filenames; it does not grant unrestricted access to your disk or Photos library.

You can choose a different output folder at any time. Saved wallpapers remain under your control and can be deleted using Finder or your file manager.

No app data collection or sharing

The application does not collect personal data for Methodox, sell personal data, or send your wallpapers, settings or folder contents to third parties. Wallpaper generation takes place locally and does not use a cloud service.

App stores and optional platform diagnostics

Purchases, downloads and updates are handled by the store you use. Apple and other platform providers may process transaction information or optional diagnostics under their own privacy policies and your device settings. Those services are separate from the wallpaper generator's local processing.

The support website

The homepage at wallpapergen.methodox.app uses Google Analytics and loads fonts from Google Fonts. Visiting that page can send technical and usage information to those providers. The site is hosted on GitHub Pages, whose hosting service may process request information. This is separate from using the desktop app.

This privacy page does not load analytics scripts, third-party fonts or other external resources. Learn more in the Google privacy policy and GitHub privacy statement.
